Wayside Foundation for the Arts

In 1965, two years after the Theatre had begun, Leo Bernstein created the Wayside Foundation for the Arts, a 501-c3 corporation and turned over his administration of the Theatre to that organization.  Prior that time, Bernstein had been Wayside’s sole administrator. 

An Advisory Board was established in 1968 and it is assumed that this group evolved into the Board of Directors, which served as an advisory group to the Theatre’s administration.  

Bernstein gifted the theatre building to the Foundation heading until it closed in 2013.   (SEE: Appendix, Board of Directors)
